Here at Ignite we are trying to redefine what church means. For far too long church has been a club of people who meet in a building. That just isn’t enough. It is not what Jesus intended on the church being.
So here at Ignite we are on a Journey to becoming the church God created us to be. We want to be a living, breathing, moving church. We want the church to exist outside the four walls of the building. We believe that God has called us to be a community that includes everyone and loves everyone.
At Ignite we are desperate to become like Christ. This is what Luke 9:23 says,” Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” We want to be followers of Christ and so we strive to get rid of the selfish things that keep us thinking of only ourselves. We are laying down any sin that would keep us from being like Christ. We are committed to the Journey towards Transformation of our lives.
We believe that the Word of God is not just a good book but it is living. It holds the key to living for Christ. So we preach the word, we read the word and we hide that word inside.
We are not perfect. We are not holier than anyone else. We don’t have all the answers. What we do have is a passion to follow Christ, a desire to serve those in need and a heart for our community and our world. We are a safe place for people to be themselves.
